Overview
Our client, a growing organization in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Finance to lead financial planning, reporting, and operational finance initiatives. This leadership role will play a critical part in supporting business growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving financial strategy across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring strong financial leadership experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industry, along with a deep understanding of financial planning, regulatory environments, and operational performance management.
You will work closely with executive leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders to help guide strategic decisions and ensure financial discipline across the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reporting packages, and performance analysis.

Partner with executive leadership to support strategic financial decision-making and business growth initiatives.

Develop and maintain financial models to support product pipelines, investments, and operational planning.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and internal governance policies.

Manage financial reporting related to R&D expenditures, manufacturing costs, and commercialization initiatives.

Oversee cash flow management, cost controls, and financial performance tracking.

Lead and mentor the finance team while promoting best practices in financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Support audits, tax planning, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, regulatory, and commercial groups.
Required Qualifications

8–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.

Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences organizations.

Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, and budgeting.

Proven experience supporting executive leadership with strategic financial insights.

Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance within regulated industries.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications

CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional designation.

Experience working within public or private pharmaceutical companies.

Familiarity with R&D cost management, clinical trial financial planning, or product commercialization.
